What’s shakin’ at Rodzart 08-20-2010.

Hi Folks. Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a good week, and has a good weekend coming up. We completed four paintings for you this week, which I hope you’ll like.

First though; OK so where was I last week. Well last week I was hanging out in Lakewood, Ohio with this guy:
My newest grandson Evan
”My newest grandson Evan”. Had a great visit with my son Chris, his wife Amanda, and ate the best corned beef I’ve ever had in my life.

The first new painting for this week is an ACEO which I entitled, surprisingly enough
ACEO 1070
”ACEO 1070”. This is a small version of some of the geometrics I’ve been doing recently, and an inexpensive way to get into art collecting.

The next painting for this week is a 9 X 12 acrylic abstract expression on watercolor paper called
Expression 1071
Expression 1071. This one is similar to Expression 1069 which I did a couple of weeks ago. I really like the horizontal and vertical planes in this piece along with the nice color harmonies working against the black background.

Next up for this week is an 8 X 10 oil on canvas called
Composition 1072
”Composition 1072”. This is another abstract geometric painting. I like the way the gray works with the light blue background.

Lastly for this week is an 5 ½ X 17 acrylic on cardboard called,
Expression 1073
”Expression 1073”. Cardboard isn’t exactly a classic painting support, but it’s free and when properly primed seems to work fairly well. I hope you’ll like this painting. This painting does have kind of an odd shape, and some of my “print on demand” sites can’t print it. There is one however which can, so when I post it in a couple of days, keep looking till you find the site that can make a print for you.

Remember, I don’t post paintings to any sites until after this blog has been published, so blog readers can get the first opportunity to acquire any paintings listed in the blog.

Incidentally, I’ve got 50 paintings listed on eBay at the moment, so if you get a chance, have a look at them. Just search for “Rodzart” and you’ll see them all.

Getting back to last week, my visit to Lakewood, Oh was really great. Lakewood is really a vibrant town with an active arts scene, and I mean real art, not just a bunch of snoots is a gallery. Lots of nice neighborhood restaurants with terrific food.

“Melt” has been on national TV and deservedly so. The food is great, the staff is really cool, and the beer is cold. Who could ask for more? If you like grilled cheese in many varieties this is the place to go.

So, if you’re ever in the Cleveland area, scoot out to Lakewood and check it out. I think you’ll enjoy it.

If you’ve got a few bucks to spare, how about spending them on Haiti. There are a lot of good programs going on, my two favorites are, as always, Doctors without borders, they’ve got a link below. Also, The Clinton-Bush Haiti fund.

Here are a couple more sites I hope you’ll visit and support:
Doctors without Borders.
Katsel Tsi Chen Cho Kyi Ling Buddhist Meditation center.

I’m also on Twitter
Myspace and
Look me up there if ya feel like it.

I hope everyone has a peaceful and prosperous week. See ya next time.
