Art, painting, isn't just a big part of my life, after my family, art is my life.
When I started painting over 20 years ago, it was clear that this was what I was meant do with my life.
In my daily work I strive to make every painting better than the one before. To me every blank canvas is a potential masterpiece.
I'm often joined in my studio by my assistants; Jack T Beagle, and Fred G Zilla (my watch gecko).
Since 2001 I've concentrated primarily on abstract expressionism, utilizing oil, acrylic and sometimes gouache.
I like to paint in bright colors, which tend to give my work a joyful quality. Occasionally, though, I will take a walk on the dark side,
if I have something to say.
My primary artistic influences are Michelangelo, Pierre-August Renoir, Henri Matisse, Jackson Pollack, Joan Miro, Joan Mitchell, and Marc Rothko.
I received my formal training at The University of Alaska, Juneau, under George Parker.
I was born in 1950 in Toledo, Ohio.
In 1981 I moved to Juneau, Alaska, where I spent the next 15 years.
In 1996 I moved to Tampa, Florida area.
I've also lived and painted in Christchurch, Barbados, and in London, U.K.
